Cyberpunk 2077 revealed why it failed a year and a half later

Action Cyberpunk 2077 from the developers of The Witcher 3 came up with a lot of bugs and poor optimization, which infuriated many players. A year and a half later, the network revealed the reasons for this state of the game.

The authors of the Upper Echelon Gamers YouTube channel stated that they have received closed reports from the Romanian company Quantic Lab, which tests the games of the Polish studio CD Project Red Previously, testers have already worked on “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt“, so Cyberpunk 2077 was also involved. The reports would reveal the lies of the company’s management. To get a new contract, they said they had 60 experienced testers, but there were only 30. Another 30 were hired at the last minute and started working after accelerated training because they did not have the relevant experience and knowledge.

Inexperienced testers flooded CDPR with reports of minor bugs and graphical glitches in Cyberpunk 2077. The developers didn’t like this. They demanded to focus on big and serious issues, after which Quantic Lab started lying about the state of the game in general. The authors of the leak claim that the creators of Cyberpunk 2077 ultimately knew nothing about the game’s true state, which made its release so problematic.

Blogger LegacyKillaHD responded to these posts. He said he spoke to CDPR employees but would not reveal their names. They reportedly claim that they were aware of Cyberpunk 2077’s bugs but didn’t have time to fix them. The developers were working without it in crunch mode, so they were mentally and physically exhausted.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2022. Over the past year and a half, the developers have released several major patches that have fixed major bugs and improved performance, especially on the Xbox One and PS4 consoles. Now the Polish company is working on a story addition.
