During this time, the authors managed to show the main character Gena, who here is not a crocodile, but an ordinary person. He is played by Sergey Garmash. At the end of the film’s trailer, Cheburashka herself was shown. According to the description of the tape “Cheburashka”, the main character is a furry animal living in an orange grove in a distant land. At some point, Cheburashka will end up in a small seaside town and meet an uncommunicative old man, most likely Gena.

Netizens who have already watched the first trailer of the movie “Cheburashka” left their numerous comments below the video. The audience expressed the hope that the authors would not spoil the “favorite childhood character”. At the same time, many ambiguously appreciated the idea that they decided to make Gena in the film “Cheburashka” a man, not a crocodile. “Yet somehow it’s not very good that the old man played by Garmash is Gena the Crocodile (just his human version),” wrote one of the commenters.
