The authors of Diablo 4 showed a new gameplay for the necromancer and talked about all the nuances of the game in front of the class

Blizzard has published a new quarterly report detailing the Necromancer Diablo 4. The fifth and final class was introduced during the Xbox show.

Unlike magicians, necromancers use two types of resources: essence (similar to mana) and corpses. The essence is restored over time and is also given for the use of basic skills. Using corpses, the hero can summon skeletons or cast some spells (for example, Corpse Explosion).

It is said that spells from the previous parts will appear in the game: “Infirmity”, “Iron Maiden”, “Bone Spirit”.

Necromancers have a unique weapon – scythes. They also use swords, daggers, wands, focus, and shields.

This class has a unique “Book of the Dead” mechanism that allows you to customize your army. There are three specializations for each type of minion. For example, Skeleton Warriors can be Raiders (Classic Warriors), Defenders (more health), or Reapers (AoE damage and rechargeable attacks). The Necromancer can also sacrifice some units in exchange for permanent bonuses.

At the maximum level, necromancers have four playstyles available: bones, darkness, blood, and the army of undead. Blizzard went into detail about each of them:

• Bones: Abilities deal physical damage and are enhanced by “crits”. Requires a large supply of essence. Includes “Bone Spirit” and “Bone Prison” skills;
• Shadow: Abilities deal damage over time and allow you to keep enemies at bay. Includes “Dissolution” and “Ashes” skills;
• Blood: Blood magic allows you to kill enemies and is most effective on players with a lot of health. Includes “Blood Excitement” and “Blood Mist” skills;
• Army of the Undead: Emphasis on summoning skeletons and golems. This style is easy to combine with others.
