Officially, the new part of the popular horror series “Alien” was shown in the first trailer with a completely new breed of xenomorphs and shocked fans of the franchise.
Focus Entertainment has announced a new project in the popular Alien franchise. This time, the fans didn’t get to see a series or movie, but a new game. Usually first-person shooters and horror movies are released based on the cult horror series, the publisher went the other way. Gamers are invited to take command of a detachment of Marines in a tactical action game Aliens: Dark Descent (Alien: Descent into the Darkness). The team heads to Lethe’s moon, where the settlers’ base is located. Communication with her has been lost, so the Marines have to restore her. On the spot, they find a giant hive of xenomorphs and their escape routes are cut off. In addition to the Aliens, they face an entirely new kind of threat. The trailer showed some human figures, but didn’t explain who they are.
In the new Alien, the heroes must learn to survive in a dangerous world that the xenomorphs have made their home. Gamers in Aliens: Dark Descent will encounter all kinds of Aliens that have appeared in the film series, from facehuggers to queens. Battles take place in real time, but their success depends not only on the player’s abilities, but also on the class skills of the selected characters, the availability of resources and other factors. Events develop on large open levels. Players can create new passageways and safe zones for themselves and install motion sensors.
Characters in Aliens: Dark Descent can lose not only physical, but also mental health. The player must select the team composition in the safe zone well, otherwise the fighters may go crazy.
Aliens: Dark Descent will be released on PC, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S featuring a new breed of Aliens. Developed by Tindalos Interactive. The creators of the tactical action have not yet mentioned a way out.
