Post-release Diablo Immortal players flooded the project with negative reviews. The game got a crushing 0.7/10 on Metacritic. The reason for this response was not only the monetization system, but also the deception of developers.
Even before the game’s release, game director Wyatt Cheng promised that in Diablo Immortal will not be able to increase the equipment level for money. It turned out that the game has gems that greatly increase the characteristics of the character. You can’t buy them directly, but you can buy glyphs that increase the drop rate of Legendary gems. In addition, some glyphs give them guaranteed for completing dungeons.
Popular streamer Zizaran asked the game director for comment on his post, to which Cheng replied that he was simply misunderstood. According to the developer, gems and equipment are different things.
The outcry of the players grew even more when the blogger Bellular said that it would cost $ 110,000 (about 7 million rubles) to upgrade the Legendary Gems to the maximum level (10th). It will take 10 years to upgrade them to this rank using in-game methods without spending any real money.
Despite angry reviews online, the game received a 3.9/5 on Google Play and an even better 4.7/5 on the App Store. In addition, the project was warmly received by critics. The iOS version has a Metacritic score of 79/100.
