Background: Roof-tear burst of hits. What will be shown at the game conferences in the summer? On the night of June 2-3, Sony held a stand and opened a series of Summer Game Fest events. It got off to a good start: the company showed many highly anticipated hits and even made PC gamers glow with happiness. If you missed the presentation, don’t worry – in this article we rounded up everything that was at the State of Play!
Resident Evil 4: The Return of a Legend
Rumors of a remake Resident Evil 4 has been around for a number of years – after all, we’re talking about a revolutionary game where the great Shinji Mikami reinvented the series. Sure, longtime Resident Evil fans still can’t get over the action and QTE, but the atmosphere, staging, and gameplay in 2005 was stunned.

Overall the fourth part still plays well today – last time I played it was in 2019 and had a lot of fun. However, the textures, the quality of the models, the inability to move when aiming, too hardcore QTE combat and an annoying partner still made us dream of a full-fledged remake.
Oddly enough, Resident Evil 4’s visuals are now even more reminiscent of a fit village. The feeling that the developers played with the tones and made the color scheme colder – and the interiors of the rustic property in the two games are not very different.
It’s also worth noting that even in the trailer, the quality of the textures varies. In short, the picture in terms of performance looks like a chic However, Resident Evil 2 seems to have copied a number of objects from the re-release of the four on the PlayStation 4. Let’s hope the shortcomings are corrected by the release.

In addition to updating the visuals, Capcom promises to wrap up the story, not make the defenseless Ashley so annoying, and upgrade the gameplay mechanics. The release is scheduled for March 24, 2023 – it will be possible to evaluate the game on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Spider-Man. Now on PC
Sony continues to release its once-exclusive products on PC. Already out on Steam god of war, horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and other hits and now it’s turn Spider-Man. Beginning August 12, Internet PC owners will be able to fly across New York City, battle Electro, Octavius, and other villains, and help MJ out of trouble.

State of Play was silent about this, but Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also coming to PC. The release is planned for the fall.

strayed. Fluffy cat in the cruel world of the future
BEE Lost gamers have to play as a cat who has lost his family and ended up in a dangerous futuristic city. Robots roam the streets and the sewers are filled with cyber mice – all these creatures will rush to catch the cat as soon as they notice it. What’s happening in the city? How to get out? Where’s the way home? This is what we need to find out.

The gameplay is about a stealth game where the animal is not allowed to catch the eye, hide in the urns and deftly jump on the platforms. However, if you come across a bowl of milk along the way, you should be distracted and refresh yourself.

The visual is another benefit of Stray. The artists have painted an unusual and beautiful city, a joy to admire. It’s no wonder that a game about a cute cat is so eagerly anticipated. The release is scheduled for July 19 – PS Plus subscribers with the Deluxe and Premium subscriptions can evaluate the project at no additional cost.
The Callisto protocol. A worthy replacement for Dead Space
For development The Callisto protocol is answered by Glen Schofield, author of the Dead Space series. Since the announcement, gamers have been promised an atmosphere and brutality that will remind you of Isaac’s adventures – judging by the new trailer, the authors were not throwing in the towel.

The main character of The Callisto Protocol is a prisoner on a spaceship who has ended up in a nightmare. Not only do the guards brutally mistreat the prisoners, but the ship also crashes into a planet overrun with creatures. To get out, the character has to go through many nightmares, find weapons and deftly shoot the limbs of the monsters.

Visuals, animations, horror, atmosphere – with these points the game does a great job. No wonder we’ve included it in the list of the most anticipated projects of the year. It is possible to verify the quality of the Callisto protocol as early as December 2.
roller dream. Rollerblade Shooter
The developers of Roll7 are known for their love of speed and stunts. Not so long ago they released a great OlliOlli World, where the hero rides around the world on a skateboard and performs impressive pirouettes. This time, the authors moved the action to full 3D, pulling roles on the character, and even giving him a few weapons.

BEE The Rollerdrome character will, as before, drive through the arenas deftly doing tricks, as well as participating in dynamic skirmishes. At the same time, the enemies shoot back, defend themselves with shields, throw bombs and destroy the racer’s life in every possible way. The well-known concept, which was diluted with combat, looks interesting – what kind of game will turn out in practice, we will find out already on August 16.
evenings. Japanese Action RPG about monsters and love
Eternights is reminiscent of a typical Japanese post-apocalyptic game. According to the plot, the world was struck by a mysterious disease that turns people into evil mutants. The hero escaped this fate, but lost his arm – fortunately, the energy sword is now in the place of the limb. It is this weapon that will help save the world.

The structure of Eternights resembles the Persona series, where action is interspersed with quiet episodes. The hero of the new game will also lead a normal life and even be able to build a romantic relationship. We will know in 2023 whether it will be interesting to do this.
Street Fighter 6. The iconic fighting game returns
Capcom released the fifth installment in 2016 – it’s even surprising that gamers had to wait so long Street Fighter 6. The fighting game was announced in February and the gameplay was finally shown on State of Play.

It is known that in Street Fighter 6 many cult fighters such as Ryu and Chun Li will return to the arena, and you will have fun also in new modes such as the World Tour storyline and the multiplayer Battle Hub. The release is planned for 2023.
Tunic. The little fox came to the PlayStation
On PC and Xbox, the game about a cute little fox was released on March 17. The Zelda and Dark Souls-inspired adventure turned out to be a good one – no wonder the PlayStation owners also hoped to appreciate the project. Happily, their prayers were answered: Tunic heads to Sony consoles on September 27.

Tunic stands out because of the beautiful world, excellent combat system, exciting bosses and a pleasant atmosphere. You can learn more about all the benefits of the project in the review.
Season: A letter to the future. Meditative Adventure
Season: A Letter to the Future is an atmospheric adventure that tells the story of the post-apocalyptic world. Once society was destroyed by disaster, and over time, people forgot what life was like. Fortunately, the heroes try to restore the legacy: they travel the world and collect memories.

In Season: A Letter to the Future there will be no action and combat system – just meditative journeys around the world, looking at beautiful landscapes and philosophical conversations. If you like games like travel and ABZU, take a look at the founding of Scavengers Studio. The release is planned for 2022.
Final Fantasy 16. Final Fantasy Square Enix
First trailer Final Fantasy 16 failed to impress the community – it didn’t look good and didn’t even try to talk about the plot and gameplay. This time Square Enix has solved it, but there are still many questions about the game: for example, the image seems uneven – in principle the image is excellent, but in some places the textures seem to have been taken from an insignificant Stranger of paradise.

Also in combat nothing is clear – there is a feeling that she suffers from a plethora of effects. However, it is too early to draw conclusions: after all, Naoki Yoshida, who once became a failure Final Fantasy 14 is a hit and the action is handled by one of the leaders Devil May Cry 5.

The credibility of these developers is great, so Final Fantasy 16 could well be a good game. We will not be able to verify this until the summer of 2023.
Resident Evil Village. Now in VR
Since the seventh installment of Resident Evil was released in VR, few doubted that the Village would also be remade for virtual reality. Soon walks through the village and encounters with Dimitrescu become even more realistic.

Judging by the trailer, the quality of the photo in VR will be good and Ethan will get new features such as Macedonian shooting. Granted, it’s possible to evaluate gameplay only on the PlayStation VR2 device announced in January. Unfortunately, the release dates of the device and the new version of the Village are not specified.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 Retaliation. Another VR Zombie Killer
First part Saints & Sinners has become a The Walking Dead based rare game that can be called successful. Gamers enjoyed cutting and shooting walkers in VR — it’s for a reason that 89 percent of reviews on Steam are positive. As early as 2022, connoisseurs of virtual carnage will be able to appreciate The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Chapter 2 Retribution.

No human heaven. 16 Trillion VR Planets
No Man’s Sky was the biggest failure of 2016, but was improved after all thanks to the hard work of the developers. In the end, Sean Murray kept most of his promises and made sure the community respected him. The authors have rolled out a lot of cool updates – and there’s another one coming: this time you can explore space and distant planets with VR glasses. The release date has not yet been announced.

Horizon: Call of the Mountain. A hit that will surpass Half-Life: Alyx?
According to the new trailer Horizon: Call of the Mountain seems like a great game and the main reason to buy a PlayStation VR2. The video showed how the hero climbs the rocks, rolls down on a rope, fights with scavengers and thunderstorms, and also looks at a long-neck, which you can clearly climb on.

Considering the visuals are also great, it’s not surprising that Horizon: Call of the Mountain managed to be named a candidate for the most important VR projects of all time. Maybe the exclusive Sony will really outdo the chic Half-life: Alyx? Just wait. Too bad the release date is not mentioned.
The summer presentations have just started, but they have already impressed with some great trailers. We hope that gamers can expect even more cool announcements, for example on June 9 as part of the official opening of Summer Game Fest. What do you think of State of Play? Write in the comments!
