Fresh footage of the new “Lord of the Rings” has emerged, showing fans a young Galadriel, who was originally played by famed Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett.
Popular British magazine Empire has announced a new issue dedicated to the new Lord of the Rings. The contents of the magazine are still unknown, but the journalists showed different versions of the collector’s covers for readers to get. They feature main characters from the highly anticipated TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. On the first cover, fans are waiting for the famous Galadriel. In the iconic film trilogy, she was played by Cate Blanchett, and now the role of the young version of the character has gone to actress Morfydd Clark. On the poster, she did not appear in the usual image of an elf, but in chivalrous armor with a dagger in her hands and a sword over her shoulders.
In addition to the young Galadriel, the new series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will feature many other characters, some of which did not appear in the books. The second cover showed a pair of dwarfs – Prince Durin and Princess Disa, the rulers of the underground city of Khazad-Dum. On the third cover the ancestors of the hobbits are mochnolegs. Fans of The Lord of the Rings got to see three representatives of the race: Poppy Proudfellow, Sadoc Burroughs and Elanor “Nori” Brandyfoot. There will be more terrible creatures in the series, for example, snow trolls. This particular sample was featured on the fourth cover. The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power will be released on September 2, 2022. The events of the new film adaptation develop thousands of years before the film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”. Sauron is still alive and can change his appearance. Viewers will see him create legendary rings of power and one to rule over all.
