How to start the Archon quest “The Impending Catastrophe”
Meet various requirements:
- Reach adventure rank 40.
- Unlock the Fontaine region.
- Complete the Archons’ task “Prelude of White Roses and Black Waves.”
- Complete the Archon mission ‘Like Light Rain Without Reason’.
- Complete the Archon mission ‘To the Shining of the Stars in the Deep’, which involves collecting all the clues and evidence.
The quest starts automatically after completing the previous task. All you have to do is follow the marker, which can be activated in the task log (key “J” on PC).
In the darkness of the deep
At the end of the previous quest you learned that Childe may have escaped, but that remains to be seen:
- First inspect the middle level of the fortress, where Bavillier will call you. At first the man will offer to play the “Sacred Call of the Seven,” but then he starts talking. You will not receive any proof, but the objective will be updated.
- On the same floor, go to the dining room, where several boys are standing.
- The last will be the three men on the floor above.
After talking to a friend, you will watch a long cutscene, after which you will have to return to the barracks.

The truth hidden in the shadows. What are the correct answers to Risley’s questions?
Follow to the fortress production site and chat with Lini. Inspect documentation on the table, bed and disguised Lucas behind large wooden boxes.

In a conversation with Risley you will have to answer three questions. If you collected enough clues and evidence in the previous quest, this will be quite easy.
First question:

- Who sent a package with a strange blood-colored liquid? – “Sponsor of the pankration tournament” (Collins’ words);
- Why does the strange blood-colored fluid look like that? — “Internal reports “Fonta””
- Why only those who purchased tickets for both fighters’ victory at the same time will receive the package? – “Dissatisfaction with the Duke.”
It won’t get to the third question, as Lini will decide to attack Risley. However, at this point the head nurse will appear and neutralize the man.
After the video, the task is updated. First go to Risley to eavesdrop on the conversation with Clorinda and then talk to Lini. Return to the infirmary to take control of Freminet.
Activate the first mechanism – the platform will go down. Run to the second mechanism to turn the platform to the right and open a passage to the stairs.
There will also be two levers at the top. The first will raise the platform and the second will rotate it in the desired direction. However, you must first interact with the second mechanism to spin the elevator, and only then raise it.
Dive into the water and swim to a dead end. At this point a video begins, after which Freminet begins to lose health. In any case, you don’t have time to land, so you can just wait until the man loses consciousness.

Keepers of Secrets and the Forbidden Zone
Go to the middle level and enter Risley’s office. He’s waiting for you with his subordinates on the second floor. He will tell you why he didn’t interfere with Fatui’s investigation, but he won’t answer the last question. Instead, the Duke will decide to show you something.
Follow him and stand on the lift plate to go to the “forbidden zone”. You can answer Risley’s question, what does the arrow on the device indicate? “Water Pressure”. Next you will find a long story from the Duke, after which the task will be completed.

In the face of disaster
At the beginning of the quest, you need to talk to your friends in the infirmary, and then visit the canteen. When the main character and Paimon go to bed, strange noises are heard. Laverun and Custeau will tell you that the Duke has ordered all prisoners to evacuate – something happened on one of the lower floors.
Follow the middle level and enter the Duke’s office. The stairs to the lower floors are unlocked. Activate the lifting device and watch the video on the engine.
The pressure of the water will rip the huge lid off and the guard will try to freeze it, but the current will continue to destroy everything in its path. You will then have a short conversation with Harlequin, during which Neuvillet will close the airlock again and prevent the tsunami.
After this, you can talk to Harlequin and Hydro Archon, then meet the judge and complete the quest, receiving the achievement “Remnant from a bygone era”.
If you complete the task, you will also receive two additional achievements “Arrival of the Gulf” And “Bottomless Secrets of the Deep Waters”.

Short silence
In this quest, all you have to do is return to the fortress and chat with your friends to discover their future fate. Then go to the barracks and sleep to complete the quest line. You also receive the achievement “Imminent Disaster” in the ‘Wonders of the World’ section.
