The State Duma of the Russian Federation plans to consider the idea of establishing “e-sports companies” as an alternative service in the military for e-sportsmen. This statement was made by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Amir Khamitov.

In the near future, we want to work out possible measures for state aid to cyber athletes. This could include mortgage benefits, military deferrals, the creation of esports companies as an alternative service, higher education benefits. In addition, we will consider the possibility of lowering the minimum age for admission to the initial stage of eSports training from 14 to 12 years.
At the same time, Khamitov said cyberathletes could go to universities without competition, which would make it possible to popularize student sports and reduce the outflow of Russian athletes abroad.
