Modder Thumblesteen released a mod (Real.AI) for Fallout 4, which he has been working on for the past few years. It improves the artificial intelligence of NPCs and removes many of the limitations associated with this system.
“Real.AI is recalibrating hundreds of engine-level routines to help NPCs in Fallout 4 behave more organically. It removes many of the console port’s remaining limitations. Experience Fallout 4’s artificial intelligence to the fullest. This is the culmination of years of research into Bethesda’s AI system, dating back to when I learned how to modify Morrowind.”said Thumbstone.

According to the author, the mod “thousands of improvements to the AI of the characters, which are difficult to describe in a few words”. It removes all those barriers that blocked many behavioral factors in NPCs.
“The mod removes this bubble, allowing NPCs to interact with the world around them. Snipers will really shoot from cover, and flanking NPCs will surround the hero more competently.says the description.
The mod also adds elements of unpredictability (NPCs are given more freedom in the choices they can make) and adds variety to NPCs’ feelings. In addition, the combat has also become more realistic.
“Now you can hide in the middle of a battle and the enemies will look for you and shoot blindly if they can’t see the character. Combat is 1000% less tedious as NPCs stop rushing at you once you’re out of sight.”says the mod.

You can download the Real.AI mod for Fallout 4 here. In just a few days, the mod has been downloaded more than 8,000 times.
Recall that before Fallout 4 there was an unofficial DLC with thousands of spoken dialogues, an extra ending and a lot of innovations.
