The era of the E3 exhibition, for which game journalists from all over the world flocked to Los Angeles for several days, is sadly over. Modern companies do not want to spend extra money and prefer to showcase new items online so that everyone can see what is happening. Summer is traditionally the hottest time, when all kinds of events, events, conferences and shows are held one after the other. We’ve put together a big schedule of upcoming events, from the end of May to August 2023, so you can easily navigate and don’t miss a thing.

PlayStation Showcase (May 24)
As much as Sony tries to brag about its success, the PS5 is desperately lacking in games. The situation should be corrected by the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, dedicated exclusively to new projects for the current generation console and PS VR2. The event is expected to last more than an hour, with trailers and various interesting details taking up most of the time, not the boring chatter of the presenters.

The obvious favorite of the show, of course, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to the hit Spider-Man that Insomniac Games has been working on for a long time. The project has only one staging trailer so far and sales are scheduled to start in the fall. The PlayStation Showcase is the perfect time to demonstrate gameplay that should convince anyone who doubts the absolute superiority of the Japanese console.
Other expected novelties: Mortal Kombat 1 and several games from Konami, possibly including the new Castlevania. It is possible that we will learn a little more about it Death Stranding 2 and remake release date Silent Hill 2 and finally we will see something new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And here Marvel’s Wolverine at the party isn’t worth the wait. The maximum that fans can count on is a staged trailer.

So far, rumors of showing a remake of one of the games in the Metal Gear Solid series look too fantastic. Information about the re-release has been appearing on the internet for quite some time now, let’s hope for the best.
Insiders claim that the PlayStation Showcase will introduce the second phase of games for the PlayStation 5, which could last until the release of the Pro version of the console.

Given the downright failure of PS VR2 sales to start, Sony will certainly want to rectify the situation. To do this, the company needs to present really interesting projects, the release of which will not be long in coming.
Naturally, the Japanese have a few surprises in store for the fans. Most likely, we are waiting for at least two unexpected projects that immediately take the lead in all the peaks of expectations. However, it is much more important to show games that are already in the final stages of development. The PS5 library needs projects that finally showcase the full potential of the console.
You can watch the event on YouTube and Twitch.
Marvelous Games Showcase (May)
Another event is scheduled for the end of May, which of course cannot be compared to Sony’s show, but deserves attention. Marvelous is a Japanese video game developer and publisher that produces anime.

The studio is known for the Rune Factory series, No more heroes legend of heroes, Corpse Party and others. The last game Marvelous released was Rune Factory 3 Special for Nintendo Switch in Japan is scheduled to release in the West on September 5, 2023. Unfortunately, there is no more detailed information about the upcoming event.
Guerrilla Collective 2023 (June 7-13)
The MIX team is preparing to reveal the latest announcements, trailers, gameplay, demos and more. The program contains games from various developers from around the world.

You can watch the event on Youtube and Twitch.
Summer Game Festival (June 8)
“Replacing E3” – that’s what it was called Summer Game Fest. Indeed, this is perhaps the only event where, with rare exceptions, everyone participates. Like the “game Oscars” – The Game Awards – the event is hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Details are not yet available, but we can expect interesting announcements. Sony is one of the few that has not yet confirmed their participation. If nothing changes, we will definitely see a lot of new stuff from other studios, which will be very different from the Japanese event.
Of the expected games, it is worth noting the major DLC Cyberpunk 2077 – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The project is rumored to be released right after the show.

Future Game Show 2023 (June 10)
The Future Games Show is organized by the online publication Gamesradar. More than 40 trailers of new games are promised, but you can also expect plenty of gameplay videos and developer interviews.

You can watch the event on YouTube, Twitch.
Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase and Starfield Direct (June 11)
A full trailer was presented at last year’s Xbox conference star field. Ironically, we look forward to seeing the long-suffering Skyrim in space again this year. This time the game will have an entire event, which will start right after the main presentation. Phil Spencer (Phil Spencer) will have to prove to the players that the Microsoft console still has projects no worse than Sony.

While there are no details yet, it’s clear that the Mikes have a duty to show the public something truly impressive, or else the current-gen consoles’ battle will be lost again.
You can watch the event on YouTube, Twitch.
PC Gaming Show (June 11)
At the party, some 50 projects will be presented by PC boyars, 16 of which are brand new. Worth the wait for the last show Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is coming out soon, the main audience is PC players, so it’s time to remind yourself. Also, they will most likely show something new Frostpunk 2, about which nothing is known since its release.

MMO gameplay in the world of “Dune” – Dune: Awakening – should demonstrate how interesting it is to play a project where absolutely the entire map consists of a lifeless desert. There are rumors about developers Don’t Starve also comes by and introduces their new project.
You can watch the event on YouTube, Twitch.
The Game Awards concert (June 25)
A show for real aesthetes. No new announcements, just mesmerizing soundtracks from living classics. They promise compositions of Elden Ring, Diablo, Final Fantasy 16, Hades, The Last of Us and other projects.

You can watch the event on YouTube and Twitch.
Devolver Digital Direct (June)
Perhaps the most original presentation of new products can be expected from Devolver Digital. The way the organizers play around with each project often looks more interesting than the announcements themselves.

At the moment, Devolver Digital is working on several games at the same time, about which there is very little information. For example, action adventure The Plucky Squire, co-op sandbox Wizard with a Gun Pepper Grinder Action Platformer Demon Skateboarding Game Skate Story and other projects. There are also some surprises to expect.

THQ Nordic Digital Showcase (August 11)
The famous publisher continues the tradition of organizing and holding its own congress. In the beginning there is a short event of HandyGames and then the main part starts with new product announcements.

News about remake of Gothic, as well as reboot trailers Alone in the dark Disowned 2 and Trine 5. Of course there will be a number of completely new projects, of which we have yet to receive the first information.
You can watch the event on YouTube and Twitch.
gamescom 2023 (August 22-27)
One of the most important gaming conferences traditionally takes place at the end of the summer period. Along with the Summer Game Fest, gamescom has become an alternative to E3, but it is not held in Los Angeles, but in Cologne, Germany.

During the show, the developers will again demonstrate the trailers of their projects, but it is unlikely that there will be many reveals. Since the event actually wraps up all major conferences, this is more of a bullet point. But it is theoretically possible to visit it in person, which is why guests are allowed to try many demo versions of new products being prepared for release.
This year’s event is hosted by Nintendo, which has not competed in the event since 2019.
Although traditionally few major games are released in the summer, journalists will certainly have something to do. It doesn’t matter if you miss one of the important conferences. The editors of VGTimes tell you about the most important things!
