Survivor – will Russian come into play?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a direct sequel to the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We play again as Cal Castis, a Jedi who survived Order 66 and now has to hide from the Empire. Unfortunately, there is no Russian language in the game, not even subtitles, not to mention the voice acting. In this guide, we will tell you if domestic localization will appear in this game.

There are examples in the industry where subtitles in Russian were added to the game a few months after its release. A striking example is Hitman 3. The release of the project took place on January 20, 2021, and we received the localization for our country only on July 27. It was added with patch 3.5. However, the absence of the Russian language at the beginning was explained by IO Interactive’s desire to save money and not spend money on a region with low sales.

In the case of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the situation is different. We won’t go into details, but the complete rejection of localization is a serious decision made at the level of current EA Games policy. Therefore, most likely, there will be no repetition of history with Hitman 3, and the Russian language will never be included in the official version of the game.

At the time of writing this guide, the first voice acting crackers have already appeared on the network. However, they present machine translation, where the entire text is literally translated. As a result, you will be able to understand the main point of the plot, but many of the details and subtleties of the word game will remain incomprehensible. Better fan localizations will surely come out later. As soon as this happens, we will update this guide.

It was also announced that GamesVoice studio, known for high-quality translations of video games, announced a fundraiser for the entire voice acting of Jedi: Survivor. But the work on it hasn’t even started yet, so it will take a long time.

In the case of crackers, we are talking about the PC version of the project. If you are playing on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S consoles, the translation to Russian is most likely not to be expected.
