DREDGE is a game about catching fish and unraveling the sinister mysteries of the deep. We must not only sell the catch and improve our ship, but also explore the mysterious archipelago in Lovecraftian style. In this article, we describe all the endings a player can achieve and tell you how to get them.

The project may seem very relaxing at first: we fish, travel between settlements and explore the sea. But as night falls, it becomes clear that chthonic monsters, mysterious and eerie strangers, ancient civilizations and something even more eerie lurk behind the meditative fishing.

There are no spoilers here, so we warn you in advance: if you want to get all the emotions out of the game, try playing it yourself first. And after that, in case of problems, use the guide. What follows are spoilers.

The history of DREDGE is full of intrigue. Even in the last minutes, the game does not give clear answers and does not explain the events. Instead, it allows the player to independently interpret and understand the endings, of which there are two in the project.

How to unlock the “bad” ending

The bad ending is a standard DREDGE ending. It is received by most players who complete DREDGE for the first time. If, despite numerous hints, you continue to blindly follow a stranger’s instructions, the game will “punish” you for this.

To get the bad ending, the player has to follow the main storyline. Do as the Collector tells you to do and recover all the missing relics. They are scattered throughout the game world and you can find clues to the location and methods of obtaining them from the Collector himself by asking the information you are interested in in the dialogue.

Once you hand over the last relic to the Collector, you need to go to one spot on the map. Once there, you activate the last cutscene, after which the credits roll.

How to unlock the secret ending

It’s hard to figure out how to get the secret ending. But getting it is a pretty simple process. After collecting all 5 relics, go to the Devil’s Spine. On the nameless island you will find the mayor, who was mentioned several times in the dialogues. He went crazy checking the Little Brain.

The island on which he stands is located on square P10. You need to dock at the pier and talk to the old mayor to understand what’s happening. Then return to Greater Marrow. To save time, you can teleport to Blackstone Isle.

Back in Big Salt, talk to the mysterious lighthouse keeper. If you’ve returned to this island many times, you may have noticed that this character knows a lot more than he says. Now it’s time to find out what she’s been hiding. Choose an option with red book and keep asking until he disappears.

After receiving the information, swim to Basalt Island. It’s time to confront the Collector. In a conversation with him, hide the last relic and repeatedly ask about the Red Book. When such an opportunity appears in the dialogue, move one step closer. Keep going until you get a chance to take the relic.

Now you have red bookneeded to complete the game. Return to the lighthouse keeper in Big Salt. She will show you the place where to throw the item. Swim over there and throw the book overboard. This is where the game ends and the credits begin.
