During some tests in Honkai: Star Rail, you can use your friends’ or other Pathfinders’ supporting characters. If you don’t already know how to assign and use such heroes, this guide will help you understand this mechanism.

How to assign a support character
The use of supporting characters is not only a good bonus that allows you to defeat serious enemies. Often in daily training you will meet the task of the obligatory use of such heroes.
To assign your own support character, which other players can use (including Pathfinders from your friends list), you need to do the following:
- Press on the button Esc on keyboard. If you’re playing on iOS or Android, just click smartphone icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Click to the right of the character’s nickname three dotsto open an additional menu “Pioneer Profile”.
- You can follow the block at the top right of the screen “Supporting Character”. Click on it and select a hero.
If another player uses your hero and wins the battle, you receive a small reward. Such a bonus can be obtained up to five times a day. It should be noted that upon receipt 60,000 credits this way to your account, the character will be reset automatically. Therefore, we recommend that you open this page from time to time and check the hero’s activity.
Using other players’ support characters
At the moment it is known that supporting characters can be used while passing the tests of the sepals. They are spread over several locations. For example, one of them can be found on the planet Yarilo-VI, in the Suburban Snowfields region.
You can also track the availability of sepals through the menu Guide of the interstellar world (key F4 on PC) in the tab “survival index”. It is worth noting that you need to spend a certain amount of money to complete the tests of the Sepalist Energy research.
When you’re ready, teleport to the Sepals and interact with him. Set the desired number of tests and press the key “Process”.
On the right side of the screen you will see the inscription “Support”. Click it to reveal available support heroes nearby or from your friends list. Hero friends are tagged special license plate.
Click “Add”to replace one of your heroes with a supporting character, start the challenge.
