Where to find and how to use solar panels in Sons of the Forest

With a recent update Sons of the Forest has added a lot of new content, including solar panels. With their help, you can illuminate your camp in the dark. Where to find them and how to use them – we’ll tell you in this guide.

Players can mainly find such devices in underground bunkers And dungeons. It is almost impossible to find them in the open world, with the exception of yellow boxes, in which they can sometimes appear. The map below shows all the dungeons where we managed to find them during the passage of the story campaign.

Look around the bunkers with 3D printers. There will always be several solar panels here.

The player may have three solar panels in his inventory at a time. So if you want to stock up on these gadgets, bring a friend, save to the spawn location of the panel, collect items, and load your last save. After loading, they will appear back in place and you can take them back to your camp.

In the inventory, the solar panels are stored in the top right corner, next to the ropes, tarpaulins, and hooks.

You can find a hint in your guide, in the tab “Fundamentals of Electricity”. Players are free to place panels on any ramp, but we recommend placing them on the roofs of buildings where you can run wires and illuminate the objects you need.

In addition to panels, you need to find LED bulbs and wire. We describe these resources in more detail in the next section.

Resources can often be found in plastic containers with yellow lids, in bunkers, in abandoned camps And caches. Near the place where you found the solar panel, you can usually find several light bulbs and spools of wire at the same time.

You can place a solar panel on every driveway. To do this, place two logs vertically, two at an angle, and put boards between them.

Then place the solar panel on the slope.

It remains only to run the wires along the logs and connect the light bulb. The wire can only be attached to whole logs.

It is important that the wire you run is attached to one of the logs that the solar panel wires pass under.

As we noted earlier, it is best to place such devices on the roofs of your buildings. In a similar way, you can run wires to anywhere in your camp and light them up at night.
