What is “Railgun”. What is it for, how to play with it and what skills you need to shoot effectively
“Railgun” – powerful energy gun. This is all the description that can be read when creating a weapon, and it completely summarizes the essence. Unlike other barrels in the game, the Soviet Gauss Cannon cannot be upgraded. Once created, you will have access to weapons with basic attributes that cannot be modified.
The railgun uses the energy of the protagonist’s suit as ammunition. You do not need to craft ammunition, but at the same time, in order for the weapon to be really effective, you need to invest the neuropolymer collected during the passage in energy pumps. Simply put, you must purchase all the upgrades from the section “Character Energy”. Upgrading the branch will cost you 789 units of neuropolymer.
Why is Railgun so good? The answer is quite simple: the cannon destroys enemies with just a few accurate shots and also leaves no trace of them. After the destruction of any robot (except for bosses and cameras), the piece of iron literally dissolves and the pesky “bees” can no longer fix it.
At the same time, you will also be without prey – all useful materials and the neuropolymer will also evaporate. But if you have been looking for a way to clear a certain area for a long time, then the railgun can help you with this. The main thing is to avoid the cameras, as they can raise the alarm and “populate” the area with enemies again.

The blueprint for this cannon is found only twice per game. If you haven’t explored every corner of Atomic Heart’s open world, you’ll find that as you get closer to the Pavlov complex, it’s impossible to craft a railgun. Below we have told you where to find the drawings.
Where to find the blueprint for the Railgun in the open world
For the first time, you can get to the blueprint of this weapon right after you’re in the open world. During the task of collecting parts of Clara at VDNKh, at some point you will be able to surface. You can reach this location by car at any other time.
Here you will see a small fenced area that you need to penetrate. To do this, use the containers on the left side of the entrance.
There will be several lumberjack robots on the site, as well as a Belyash mini-boss. After dealing with the enemies, quickly inspect all the chests – there are exactly seven of them. In one of the crates you will find a random upgrade blueprint for a melee weapon (we have a handle for the “Asterisk”), as well as a blueprint for the “Railgun”.
Before you do this, make sure you haven’t blocked the exit with a car. If at the same time the transport is blown up, you will not be able to get out of the “cage” in any way. Only loading an early save helps.
Where to look for the drawing of the “Railgun” in the Pavlov complex
If you have already reached the Pavlov complex and moved to the lower floors, you will not be able to return to the open world until it is completely cleared. Despite this, the second drawing is in this complex.
While completing the “Bloody Courier” quest in the Pavlov complex, after a while you find yourself in a cafeteria teeming with robots. On the left, find the passage to the utility room and find the yellow chest.
