Which faculty to choose
It’s no secret that the vast majority of evil wizards from JK Rowling’s world studied in Slytherin. True, in the future, the writer tried to change her own stereotype by adding a few goodies, including the son of Harry Potter, to the “snake faculty”, but this did not improve the picture much. Voldemort, Bellatrix of Lestrange, the Malfoy couple and many other famous mages began as ordinary students, prone to ambition and cunning.
Hogwarts Legacy allows the player to choose the faculty of his choice, so to start a career as a dark mage, all you have to do is enter the dungeons of Slytherin.
How to deal with other students
Despite the almost complete lack of variability, in the dialogues you can sometimes choose an answer with a positive color or a negative one. For example, in a side quest, the hero will say that he wants to keep the find for himself, or ask for an additional fee.
In addition, a real dark wizard does not hesitate to lie for the sake of his own interests, and therefore, when communicating with other students, calmly be cunning and show selfishness.
How to dress
The equipment of the future dark lord must be appropriate. Ideally, you will have to find a “dark arts kit”, but now it is only given in the Deluxe Edition.
If there is no access to the right clothes, choose the most expensive and stylish, not nightgowns and funny hats. The game has the ability to walk with a raised hood, which will add even more mystery to the main character, but beware of the design. It is unlikely that a dark magician will explore the Forbidden Forest in something bright and colorful – this should also be taken into account.
It should be noted that it is not necessary to wear low-level items to maintain style. The appearance of all the things you pick up as you progress through the game become available to change gear.
To do this, hover over an individual item of clothing and select “Change Appearance”.
What happens when you become a dark mage?
As we already wrote, becoming a complete villain will not work. The game has no moral system or reputation of any kind, and therefore there are no penalties for obscene behavior and forbidden magic. Maximum – you will hear new comments from the NPC. Sometimes they will be enthusiastic, but more often they will be judgmental.
Which talents to choose
In the “Talents” section there is a whole group of additional “Dark Arts” skills. The image on it is appropriate – a magician with red eyes. By the way, this is a direct reference to Voldemort, who began his process of turning into a red-eyed serpent-like monster.
The initial talents in the branch will add a curse effect to regular spells – an increase in damage taken. The most powerful talents will be directed towards the development of unforgivable spells. Thanks to such modifications, it is possible to kill opponents with entire squads, turning the hero into a real death machine.
How to learn unforgivable spells
All three of the Unforgivable Curses: Crucio, Imperio, and Avada Kedavra are abilities that cannot be obtained in the main story. To learn, go through the side missions of Sebastian Sellow – a young Slytherin. Already at the acquaintance stage, the boy will say that he is interested in forbidden magic, and then you can learn more about it.
Avada Kedavra is perhaps the most anticipated magic in the entire game. It truly kills in one hit and can become an ultimate weapon against any enemy. However, unlocking magic is not easy. Requires level 28. The quest is called “In the Shadow of the Relic”.
Crucio inflicts severe pain on enemies and immobilizes them for a short time. You can get the curse in the quest “In the Shadow of Learning”.
Imperio is able to take control of the enemy. Like the previous two spells, you can learn it thanks to Sebastian. Complete the quest, in which you visit his house and find a relic in the cave.
In the open world there is a special arena where you can practice all the forbidden magic and perfect combinations.
