Remark: This quest is optional, and other than one achievement and some visual rewards, you’re unlikely to receive a generous reward for completing it.
The task itself is connected with the main character, or rather, with her attachment to her cat Homer, who was left in New York without his mistress. Every time you find a cat statue in the game world, the heroine can start a mini-game that allows you to make friends with a magical pet. At the start of the minigame, you need to hold down the button on the screen to approach him slowly. Basically it works on the principle of the game “Red light, Green light”. If the cat begins to show signs of distress, an orange exclamation mark icon will appear above it. Stop moving to calm her down.
If you get close enough, you can pet the cat and gain her trust. From now on, the pet will appear from time to time in one of the Pilgrim’s Huts, and you, in turn, can admire and even pet it.
Gaining the trust of all 20 Tanta’s familiars will unlock the “Cat Person” achievement. It is worth noting that the achievement will be necessary to get “platinum”.
Where to find all Tanta’s familiars in Forspoken
Remark: Some of Tanta’s familiar will be available along your path, but others are hidden in the most remote corners of the locations. The easiest way to track down missing familiars is to look around the map and examine the right side of the screen, where the collectibles for each area are displayed.
One of these items is Tant’s familiars. If you’ve already found at least one, the rest will appear on your list. Many areas have no acquaintances to find, so only explore the areas where they appear on the map. This will save a lot of time.
If Tanta’s familiar can be found in a certain region, it will be marked on the map with a yellow icon (cat’s paw). There is another statue of a cat on this spot. However, if the icon is missing, it does not mean that the trusted is not in this location. You may need to walk through the plains and towns in this area to unlock a hint on the map. The main character’s ability to parkour will help immensely with this, and will also make the journey more exciting. Basically, you just need to explore new locations and check the map from time to time until the cat’s paw icon appears on it.
In addition, you can also use clock towers to make it easier to find people you know. Just interact with them so that a large number of interesting places appear on the map. Also don’t forget to use the protagonist’s bracelet to scan the area.
