developers Genshin Impact has prepared a Chinese New Year gift – a festive video featuring Hu Tao, Xin Yan and many other characters. At the very beginning, the heroines performed a musical number, in which Hu Tao rapped.
It is noteworthy that HoYoverse has translated the video into several languages. You can listen to the song below in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English.
Real viewers, unlike the NPCs, didn’t like the song at all. Fans complain about rhythm problems in the English version of the track and ask Hu Tao to never rap again.
“Hu Tao baby, with all due respect, but rap never again”, — @blkliacc on Twitter.
“What if Hu Tao’s English rap is so bad because every time someone DIE listening to it, she gets more customers in the funeral home.”, — @LucidzDimension on Twitter.
“Hu Tao has a hidden talent And she has to hide it further ”, — @gerardoingram7357 on YouTube.
As noted by PC Gamer, the track’s problem lies in the translation of the lyrics. Hu Tao’s English “voice” Brianna Knickerbocker recently covered a Genshin Impact fan song, and her rap work sounded pretty good.
