Ubisoft is going through some tough times: sales are poor, some games had to be postponed, others cancelled. According to insider Jeff Grubb, the Montreal giant is already looking for a buyer.
Grubb’s sources say Ubisoft has reached out to several major players, but its offer was called “especially laughter“.”She’s too fat. Ubisoft’s strength was in its distributed development structure, and now it’s more of a minus”, — wrote insiders on Twitter.
Grubb believes Ubisoft could try to “lose weight” for the impending acquisition – closing unnecessary studios, for example. At least while the outlook does not look very rosy.
