January 18, 2023 Genshin Impact is being updated to version 3.4. After a recent flood of developers from HoYoverse, it became clear what to expect. In this guide we tell you about all the innovations of the update.
Note that in honor of the Chinese New Year, all players will receive 10 intertwined destinies and a Li Yue four-star hero of their choice. These include Ning Guang, Xing Qiu, Yan Fei, Xin Yan, Yun Jin, Bei Dou, Xiang Ling and Chun Yun.
New characters and weapons in Genshin Impact 3.4
Banners featuring two new Dendro characters will be available on January 18:
- Five-star swordsman Al-Haytham. We will devote a separate guide to him;
- Four-star spearman Yao Yao.
During the same period, the weapon flag gains a higher chance of getting the one-handed sword “Light of the Leaf Slash” and the spear “Jade Kite”. This five star weapon is the signature weapon of Al-Haytham and Yao Yao respectively.
In addition, the banner with Xiao, Ye Lan and Hu Tao will return, as well as the banner with their signature weapons – “Aqua Simulacrum” and “Staff of Homa”. We have covered more about how repeated prayers work in the thematic guide.
New location in Genshin Impact 3.4 update
The Sumeru Desert will get even bigger. A location in the north is added to the already available areas. On the surface, lifeless sand dunes await you, and underground – large caves with reservoirs, including the Oasis of Eternity. You can learn them as you progress through the new series of missions.
New missions in Genshin Impact 3.4
There are three known quest chains that will be available after update 3.4:
- History of New Sites in the Sumeru Desert;
- Quest for the Legends of Al-Haytham;
- The history of the new skin Kamisato Ayako.
In addition, five events are known – limited-time events where you can get particularly valuable rewards. Among them are the already well-known Sea Lantern Festival, as well as location exploration and duels with other characters.
New world boss
It will be the Sandworm of Setekh. You can find this monster deep underground, in one of the caves. The materials that fall after his death will be needed for the rise of Al-Haytham.
New opponents
There will be two new elite hermits that can summon assistants Pyro and Dendro elements. In addition, we will see the Cryo herald of the Abyss and the Arch Lector, who possesses four elements: Pyro, Electro, Hydro and Cryo.
New skins
There will be two:
- A five-star skin for Kamisato Ayaki that resembles the Fontaine girls’ outfit. It will be paid;
- Four-star skin for Lisa in the form of an Academy student. All players receive it for free as a reward for completing one of the missions.
New levels of the dream tree
The maximum level of the Dream Tree is increased to 40. You can pump it using Dendro symbols. We’ve covered them in more detail in a separate guide.
