Avatar 2: The Way of the Water creator James Cameron has revealed some bad news that has left fans upset.
Avatar 2: The Way of the Water recently hit theaters and shows great results at the box office. Creator James Cameron decided to talk about the future of the franchise after the second installment. The director gave a new interview, where he talked about the possible release windows of the Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 movies. Judging by James Cameron’s words, the next parts could come out much later than many fans expected. So far, only the movie Avatar 3, which was shot parallel to Avatar 2: The Way of the Water, seems safer.
It was initially assumed that each new part of “Avatar” would be released every two years since the release of “Avatar 2: The Way of the Water”. Maybe plans can change a bit now. “So, you know, ideally Avatar 3 comes out in two years. Ideally, Avatar 4 will come out maybe three years after the third part, and ideally Avatar 5 will come out in a few years, ”says James Cameron. So if all goes well for James Cameron, there will be regular sequels. But, the director notes, this is an ideal option. It is also worth noting that Avatar 3 will be released on December 19, 2024, while Avatar 4 will be released on December 17, 2026. Cameron also believes that ideally the gap between them will be at least 3 years.
Avatar 2: The Way of the Water is now in theaters. The tape shows remarkable results at the box office and has already managed to earn more than a billion dollars.
