The modding team has released a remaster of the classic shooter Star Wars: Dark Forces by LucasArts, released for DOS in 1995.

The project, called Star Wars: The Force Engine, is a 4K remaster. It has been three years in the making. In addition to improved graphics, the updated version received a full view of the mouse, a new storage system and a loader for mods. All of these features can be disabled if desired.





The remaster is available as a mod for the original game. To run you need a licensed copy of Steam or GOG, 64-bit Windows 7 (support for Windows 10 or Windows 11 not reported), and a video card with OpenGL 3.3 or newer. You can download the remaster here.
