The network has new official information about the movie “Avatar 2: The Way of the Water”, revealing why the sequel will only be released after 13 years.
Avatar 2: The Way of the Water producer Jon Landau has given a new interview in which he explains why it took so long to make the second part of Avatar. One of the reasons for such a long break between movies was that director James Cameron wanted to write a script for four sequels at once, that is Avatar 2, Avatar 3, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. “Why was it important to have four scripts write at the same time? There are several reasons. One is that our actors know where their characters are going because the decisions they make will affect their later decisions,” said Jon Landau.
Another reason Avatar 2: The Way of Water production started so late was because of the kids. “We know that children grow up in real life. For the second and third films, the children had to be the same age. We had to shoot two parts at once, which is why it was very important to write such scripts that Jim would love to direct,” said the producer. It is also worth noting that it was previously said on the net that James Cameron was writing the screenplays for Avatar 2: The Way of the Water and its sequel with the writing team. Cameron gave them 800 pages of notes before they started writing the scripts.
Avatar 2: The Way of the Water is out December 14. Starring: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet and others. Directed by James Cameron.
