Electronic Arts fell into a scandal over its recent broadcast devoted to the The Sims franchise. As part of the broadcast, the company showed a short video featuring bloggers creating content about games. The public was annoyed that out of nearly 20 people, only one was black.

The company has been criticized by many black players, including streamer Ebonix with 31,000 subscribers. later EA published an official statement in which she apologized to fans and promised to get better.
The content creator segment at the Behind The Sims Summit did not adequately represent our huge community of players. Black simmers deserve to be featured in all things The Sims. We take responsibility for this error and will improve in the future.
