On a recent episode of the YouTube show Corridor Crew, director Tim Miller revealed the Easter egg for his 2019 movie Terminator: Dark Fate. This is a reference to the cult anime Ghost in the Shell.
In the final part of the film, when Grace tries to crush the Rev-9’s head, her arms literally burst at the seams from the sheer force she uses. This moment, according to Tim Miller, simply acts as an Easter egg and a reference to a similar scene in Ghost in the Shell (when Motoko tried to destroy the tank).
‘Did you see my tribute to Ghost in the Shell? With torn arms and flesh? Yes, this is a reference to the spider tank scene.said Tim Miller.
