The actor is in the full filming of his drama’Jesus and the KingHe describes himself as “very excited to get into opening week and for the movie to be released”.

How does a true story like the one told in ’42 seconds’ take place?

Being able to tell others what one of the biggest milestones in water polo was for Spain and the Olympic Games, as well as being able to tell the story of Pedro García Aguado and Manel Estiarte, who are so close to Spain, is a gift. process. We were able to meet them in person and they put so much love into them. The whole project is a gift, and being able to enjoy it with a film crew as nice as making the movie is a hard thing to find.

Does the character’s creation vary a lot depending on whether it is fact or fiction?

It depends on this. In this case, I want to find a balance between defining traits and being open to fiction to tell the story of an almost real character. In the end, once you pass the filter of turning fact into fiction, you want to change things up to make them interesting and explore possibilities, or even make things believable. It’s like juggling.

Has Aguado seen the movie?

Yes, he saw the movie. I wasn’t lucky enough to be on the show where she saw him but he sent me a nice message. He left very excited, very happy, and that’s already too much for me.

Did you do a lot of water polo practice before shooting?

Man, of course, this is a water polo movie and we had to train a lot for the sports scenes; a lot of water polo, a lot. It is a very demanding sport.

Aguado’s character has a makarilla attitude, but he also has a lot of charm, do you look like him in that sense?

I don’t think the character is very makarilla either, and I… well, I’m a pretty normal guy.

The movie deals with the issue of drug addiction, what do you think about the representation of drugs in fiction?

Well, I have no idea either. It depends on the movie, how it’s told. There are many movies and many genres about drugs. I’d rather you ask me about a particular movie, but I think it’s okay to talk about them because they’re real.

Within ’42 seconds’.

It was a fundamental thing in the story of both the movie and my character, and it had to be said, the tunnel of shit had to be opened.

And in your songs?

Well, I don’t say anything to the letter in my songs, I leave it to free understanding.

After two years in the trap, do you prefer a musical or theatrical stage?

I don’t have a choice. They’re two very different things. I love both things and I think they are compatible.

What is your musical creative process?

I create without improvisation, that’s what works best for me.

How about Arenal?

So funny, I had a great time and was very well received.

You studied at ESAD in Murcia. What do you think about the fact that acting education is still not considered an official university degree?

Well, I don’t know what to say to you. It should be, but I’m not very knowledgeable about it. I prefer not to go into those issues.

You have worked with artists such as Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz or Ricardo Darín in Iranian Asghar Farhadi’s Todos lo saber. What did you learn from the experience?

Above all, I learn from life. It is a great chance to work with such wonderful colleagues and colleagues, and working with a director in that category is an unforgettable experience. I learned what my teachers taught me: love of business and respect for work.
