Deadline has revealed the name of the actress who will play the main character in the upcoming Red Sonja movie. The role of the brave warrior Sony went to 30-year-old Italian Matilda Lutz.
By the way, the actress already starred naked in the 2016 film Together in the Movies:
Wallis Day, best known for Krypton, and Robert Sheehan, who played Klaus in The Umbrella Academy and the main character of The Predatory Cities Chronicles, also join the cast. Wallis plays Annisia, Sonia’s half sister. Robert got the part of a certain Drigan.
The film is slated to go into production at the end of 2022. MJ Bassett, who directed Solomon Kane in 2009, will direct. The script was written by Jill Soloway, who worked on Grey’s Anatomy.
