As part of Comic-Con 2022, Keanu Reeves not only presented a teaser for John Wick 4, but also talked about the anime adaptation of his own comic BRZRKR. During a conversation with the press, the actor revealed that he was introduced to Japanese animation during the filming of The Matrix.
According to the celebrity, the then Wachowskis (The Wachowskis) brothers forced him to check out several works in the cyberpunk genre.
I watched anime on channel 79 and didn’t even know what it was. And when I was working with the Wachowskis on The Matrix, they said, “You have to see these works.” The list included Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and that’s just the beginning. I don’t know much about modern anime. Some of my friends have kids who can call anime nonstop, and I say, “Sounds great.”

The BRZRKR comic tells the story of an immortal warrior who works for the US in hopes of learning how to end his life. The anime is produced by Production IG, known for Ghost in the Shell.
