Thor: Love and Thunder concept artist Ken Barthelmey showed how Gorr the Godslayer was originally conceived before Christian Bale got the part.
The author has published two works of art. Both the first and second versions of the character look more creepy than the final version. On art, the supervillain appears less human-like. In addition, he is portrayed as a monster.
For comparison, here’s what the final version of Gorr Godslayer looks like.

It’s worth noting that Ken Barthelme loved the way Christian Bale played Marvel’s villain. Recall that the image of the character even before the premiere of “Thor: Love and Thunder” caused a strong reaction on the network and gave rise to new memes.
