The president’s first wife took a cynical response to Melania Trump’s response – she continued to call herself first lady on another show, “The Ray D’Arcy Show” – but she clarified the context.
“I said I was Trump’s First Lady. And the First Lady was very angry about it. I don’t know why, because I really am Trump’s First Lady – I was married to Donald. I have three children with him and I have no idea what he is offended by. What does it matter,” said Ivana Trump.
In the same 2017, Ivana Trump gave examples of how much her ex-husband trusted her. In an interview with CBS This Weekend, she stated that the president offered her to be the US ambassador to her hometown of the Czech Republic, but she turned it down because she wanted to lead a free lifestyle and fly to Saint Tropez on vacation.
In 2019, Ivana Trump told the press about her daughter’s relationship with her stepmother – it was later revealed that she treated Melania better than Marla Maples, who caused her divorce.
Donald Trump’s first wife, in an interview with The Atlantic magazine, said of her daughter, “He loves Melania very much because unlike the other he didn’t ruin my marriage, I don’t even want to say her name.”
However, she herself did not hide that her ex-husband criticizes his third wife.
