Detox diets and nutritional supplements do not help cleanse the liver of toxins. In the portal comments on this subject HABER.ru said gastroenterologist Anastasia Feklistova.

According to the expert, the liver does not need additional help to remove toxic substances from the body. Usually this organ itself copes with the corresponding function and problems arise only in case of serious damage. This is especially true for liver cirrhosis.

In this regard, Feklistova noted the impossibility of cleansing the liver with “healthy” products. We are talking about apples, lemons, various oils and celery.

Moreover, following a detox diet can, on the contrary, harm the body. The doctor emphasized that uncontrolled consumption of nutritional supplements during “cleansing” is especially dangerous.

“If you really want to help your liver, stick to a healthy lifestyle: Diet, watch your weight and exercise. Give up bad habits,” emphasized Feklistova.

He added that days called fasting also increase the risk of malfunctions in the body. The expert explained that a person may get gallstone disease due to fasting.

Those who previously supported a healthy lifestyle (HLS) warned from eating ice cream.
