Photographer Dmitry Iskhakov told socialbites.ca how he photographed actress Yulia Peresild before she flew into space.
“Working with Yulia Peresild is always a pure pleasure. It is so real and open that it is impossible not to be inspired by its energy and beauty. He is open to creative experiments, which is very rare. Yet artists, as I believe, are people in situations. There are established and recognizable images; “A step left and right is always difficult, because it is a certain risk,” Iskhakov began.
He noted that their joint shooting took place before the flight into space.
“We had very little time; His schedule was very busy. It was in Star City; This place is closed and a very special place in itself. The real history of our conquest of space was happening there, and I love everything about space, so it was also a little personal story for me,” the photographer recalled.
Dmitry Iskhakov developed shooting in spacesuits for the actor.
“He’s not very comfortable in his spacesuit and it’s very hot; you can’t rely on calm, measured shots, you can’t decide in the process, you can’t figure it out and you can’t try. Everything needs to be thought out in advance, filmed very clearly and very quickly. I was nervous and Yulia immediately calmed the situation when she arrived at the site, which was a small office where I brought the equipment. He joked, laughed and did everything to make us all relax a little and not be nervous. As a result, the shooting was almost instantaneous and it was great,” the photographer recalls.
He also stated that he admired Yulia Peresild and her character.
“Yulia is a real fighter and I don’t remember her at least once expressing dissatisfaction with something and we have worked with her many times. By the way, I tried on that spacesuit and realized that, despite all my love for space, I could never decide on such a flight. And Yulia is a real hero,” Iskhakov concluded.
