About half of Russians refuse pure water during the day. This is demonstrated by a study of the Level Kitchen healthy eating service acquired by socialbites.ca.
Level Kitchen experts conducted a survey where 45% of respondents said they don’t drink water during the day and prefer other beverages. Especially, 29% said that they refused water for coffee, 11% said that they quenched their thirst with tea. Only 3% of the respondents said they prefer milk and fermented milk products such as kefir and yogurt. Among those surveyed were about 1% of those who liked their juices.
Among those who monitor the water balance (55%), 17% of the participants drink 1 liter of water every day, 26% – 1 to 1.5 liters, 21% – 1.5 to 2 liters. More than two liters of water is the norm for only 3% of the respondents.
20% of Russians admit that they do not count the amount of water they drink per day. But it’s necessary, according to leading nutritionist Level Kitchen Anton Berdov. The expert said, “My main advice is to start counting how much water you drink during the day, this will allow you to understand whether you have enough water.” – The standard recommendation of nutritionists is to drink two liters of water per day. However, I still make recommendations based on anthropometric data. It is better to follow a simple rule: drink 30 ml of clean drinking water per 1 kg of weight per day. In the summer, with increased physical exertion, it is better to increase the ratio to 40 ml of water and 45 ml per 1 kg of weight.
The study was conducted on the Level Kitchen nutrition service website from May 23 to June 1, 2022. 2500 people participated in the survey.
