The period from July to the beginning of September is the most comfortable time to travel to the Taimyr Peninsula. Vadim Mamontov, CEO of RussiaDiscovery tour operator, told socialbites.ca about this.

“The season starts at the beginning of July. Right now, the lakes are just opening from the ice, the flooding is starting, and they are the strongest waterfalls right now, but most are mosquitoes and midges,” he says.

The most comfortable time to travel to Taimyr is the second half of August and the beginning of September. “At this time, the first frosts drive away midges and mosquitoes, the northern lights appear, but the waterfalls are getting a little shallower,” says Vadim Mamontov.

According to him, the cost of the basic tourist program to Taimyr, which includes a visit to the Putorana Plateau, is 150,000 rubles per person.

“Of course there are more expensive offers,” says Vadim Mamontov. — Seeing the most interesting waterfalls depends on your time in the helicopter. If you expand and look at distant objects, for example, the village of Khatanga, Cape Chelyuskin, the village of Dikson, the cost turns out to be 200-400 thousand rubles.

Flights are not included in the tour price. Tickets Moscow – Norilsk will cost about 40 thousand rubles.
