The 2024 Goya Awards gala, to be held at the Valladolid Fair on February 10, will bring to the city a program that will be larger and longer than recent editions and includes previous events starting on December 16.

Two exhibitions, one indoors and the other on the street; screenings of nominated films and meetings with their authors and heroes; educational and social activities; giant ‘goyas’ in the streets; As Jesús Julio Carnero emphasized, the illumination of the city and a ‘photocall’ at the City Hall to take a photo with the Goya Award will be among the events planned to “impregnate” Valladolid with the aroma of Goya.

The mayor is accompanied by Fernando Méndez-Leite, president of the Film Academy, Susi Sánchez, vice-president and winner of two Goya awards, and Blanca Jiménez, councilor responsible for Tourism, Events and City Branding.

Méndez-Leite emphasized that Goya 2024 will “leave its mark in Valladolid” because “the awarding of these awards will take place for a longer time and with more specific events than those that have been held so far” and will last more than four weeks. All of this came after “many months” of “very close” work between the Academy and the City Council.

Jesús Julio Carnero claimed that Valladolid has long been a “cinema city” and that this event “strengthened the bond between them”.
