The next day, the face of TVE thanked TVE for the years he spent at the public institution and his current colleagues. And now it was Piqueras who spoke.
The dormant face of ‘Informativos Telecinco’ will put an end to more than 50 years of work in the media, the last 17 years of which were at Mediaset. In his statement to Pronto magazine, Piqueras stated that this was a decision he “made a long time ago” and conveyed it to the company in May.This confirms the words of the statement published by Mediaset España.
Pedro is clear about when he will leave his post and confirms the rumors: “I will leave in December”. So the presenter has only a few weeks left at the helm of the news program he has hosted for more than a decade.
He also had time to talk about his replacement, Carlos Franganillo: “Carlos Franganillo, who replaced me, is a great journalist. We’re kind of similar in dealing with information. He’s younger, he’s got a lot of future ahead of him, he’s very prepared.”.
Finally, Pedro Piqueras admits: “I will leave behind many things that I have always fought for, but I will also face other things that I could not do due to lack of time, such as going to concerts in the Auditorium, going out with friends, sailing or having fun with family.” .
