“Girls often dream of marrying an IT specialist because they are “always at home and receive a high and stable salary.” But in real life, not everything is so rosy; living with an IT specialist can be difficult, and all the qualities of these people contribute to a strong marriage It may not be appropriate,” Ganzina warned.
IT professionals often work from home, which isn’t always convenient, according to a human resources expert.
“They sit in front of the computer for too long; They often work more than 8 hours a day, and many are used to coding at night. It is impossible to distract them while working, they are usually passionate about their work and collect rows of teacups in front of the computer in the flow of work. Sometimes they eat lunch at work, taking time to clean up after themselves or do the dishes. It is unlikely that they dream of evening walks with a girl and do not like going to restaurants,” explains the expert.
According to Ganzina, the fact that her husband is always “in her sights” may attract a girl with an anxious attachment type, but it will be difficult to adapt to his schedule.
“In reality, you can’t throw these kinds of people out of the house. In fact, he is always before your eyes, lying down in a T-shirt. His activity may be incomprehensible to you – an IT specialist easily gets up at night to write code or sleeps until 15:00. Therefore, you will have to adapt to his schedule, sprints and calls,” warned the HR expert.
He added that high earnings would not be an advantage as the IT professional would spend the money on equipment.
“A programmer is not a golden antelope who will give you money. They cannot always distribute their earnings correctly or evaluate their financial situation profitably. Besides spending a lot of money on technology, they rarely pay attention to details; Don’t expect compliments from them about a new bag. They are too passionate about their work to be genuinely interested in anything else. Even if it concerns their significant other,” the HR director said.
He also debunked myths that IT professionals can’t take care of themselves.
“More and more often you can see how easily programmers embrace the idea of race. We have experts who go to the gym in the morning and ask you not to disturb them until the work day begins. Many people have realized that when you sit all day and don’t go anywhere, you should at least work out in the gym,” Ganzina noted.
