“Whitening strips are not as harmless as they seem. The concentration of whitening ingredients in the strips is unknown, so this whitening method can lead, at best, to an uneven change in the color of the teeth, and at worst, to damage to the enamel surface and chemical burns to the gums. ” the doctor warned.
The doctor also warned against whitening teeth with abrasive pastes containing large particles.
“This method will damage the enamel surface if used systematically and with incorrectly selected paste abrasiveness. “In addition, abrasive pastes can cause increased sensitivity of teeth and gums,” explained the doctor.
The dentist added that you should not try to whiten your teeth with “folk” methods.
“Teeth whitening with citric acid, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and apple cider vinegar can seriously damage your smile. “All these products cause great damage to tooth enamel and increase the risk of decay,” he warned.
