— Olga, the aspiring lawyer of the protagonist in “Poor Oligarch”. Please tell us more about your role.
“When I got the script, I immediately realized that I really liked my hero. Olga is a lawyer, young, serious but very positive and correct! Finding herself in the company of a poor oligarch and his henchman, the woman shows her intelligence and actually saves them, for which she receives an invitation to “escape” with them next season. The story is not complete without love… I don’t want to tell you all the details; Watch the series on TNT and find out for yourself.
“For Olga, the case of oligarch Victor was the first case in her legal career. Have you played a lawyer before, or is this a double take?
— Yes, we can say that this is a double exit. I hope it will be successful for both of us.
— Do you think you can become a lawyer in real life? Will you defend your clients’ interests in court by, among other things, creating crafty defense lines?
“It seems to me that you could be anyone.” It is very important to love your job and be happy. I graduated from university with honors and was supposed to work as a financier, but I realized that I was created for something else and I do not regret anything. I’m happy to be an actor! I hope my audience is also happy with my choice.
— The producer of “Poor Oligarch” was Sarik Andreasyan; You also worked on the TV series “Karantinada Nagiyev” and “On Duty Life”. Do you enjoy interacting with it?
— We met Sarık a long time ago at the film festival in Prague. I am grateful to him for inviting me to his projects. Now we have another joint project – this is the series “Deniska’s Stories”. In my career, I always wanted to delve into the world of good family cinema and it finally happened. I’m sure many people remember both the story and the television movie, which was released in 1970 and was one of 11 films based on Dragunsky’s collection of the same name.
A pleasant surprise for me was the opportunity to work on the set with the grandson of the author who directed it. Working with Artemy is very easy and interesting. I also have great partners on set, a kind and sensitive bunch.
— How was the shooting of “Poor Oligarch”? Did you like Timur Batrutdinov as a partner?
“The shooting passed like a moment for me. We had very few shifts, and working with masters such as Vladimir Sychev and Maxim Lagashkin brought only positive emotions. Working with them is easy and great fun. Sometimes they even asked me: “Yanana, why are you so serious?” And that’s my role. Olga was always very concentrated, plus there were a lot of texts with legal terminology.
On one of the shooting days, Timur joined us with a cheerful and positive attitude. I’m sure it will add color to this project.
– In August, the premiere of another series with your participation took place – “Cyber Ivan”, where you played the role of an officer’s wife. According to the story, a “robot” maid moves into your mansion. What do you think about artificial intelligence? Do you think he will be able to replace players in the future?
– NO! I believe a robot can be a good helper, but it cannot replace a human. “Cyber Ivan” is proof of this. The main character becomes a family friend because he is actually a living person with feelings and emotions.
— This year, the TV series “Ranetki”, which is a landmark project for you, celebrated its 15th anniversary. Would you return to the role of Polina Zelenova today?
— My role in “Ranetki” is very dear to me, but I am sure there are many more heroines that I would be interested in playing.
— In your film biography, there are many projects shot in the USA. Are you dreaming of a career abroad in general?
– Yes, there were once such plans. But today I am in Russia: I act in films, play in the theater. My family is here and I am happy! Today the world is changing so fast that I don’t want to think too much.
— Besides shooting movies, you also work in theatre. In October, the Malaya Ordynka Theater will host the premiere of the film “Amphibian Man”, based on the novel of the same name by Alexander Belyaev. You played the Old Man’s girlfriend in the play. Do you believe that love knows no obstacles?
— I have many plays in the theater. This is Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince” and Fitzgerald and Mayakovsky’s “Tender is the Night.” The premiere of “Amphibian Man” is coming soon. Of course, there are love lines in every production. There are always difficulties and obstacles but I am sure that love is our engine, it is what makes us better!
