Use pink, yellow or white plastic furniture and decor to create a Barbie-style interior. Julia Golub, interior designer of the Hoff furniture and household goods hypermarket chain, told socialbites.ca about this.
According to her, the production designers who thought about the decor of the movie “Barbie” were inspired by the American modernist houses of the 50s of the last century and were based on a combination of three classic colors – pink, white and gold.
“Such a palette is easy to integrate into modern interiors, the main thing is to achieve balance. The most devoted Barbie fans can opt for a kitchen set with a pink front, a light counter with marble and terrazzo textures will suit them well, and a mixer, cutlery and accessories made of gold metal will create an elegant accent,” advises Yulia. Golub.
Adding “baby” accents to the living room, according to the designer, is easy with the help of textiles – decorative pillows, curtains or blankets in all shades of pink.
“Choose what type of barbie you like best – pure and bright or more restrained and elegant, just a hint of the doll trend. In the first case, you can safely use furniture and interior items made of pink, yellow and white plastic, and in the second, you can stop on textiles of softer tones, with a velvety texture and golden details, ”explained.
The main color in the bedroom, Julia Golub, advised to make white better.
“Bedroom furniture is best chosen in soft colors. For example, you can make it bright as an ottoman or bedside rug on the dressing table. Light pink and white tones are perfectly combined with greenery, indoor plants will instantly refresh the space, help to correctly place accents and allow the eye to rest from the pink interior, ”explained the designer.
