Scotland’s Torsa Island is on sale for $1.9 million for the first time in 85 years. New York Post.
The name of the island is of Norwegian origin and translates as “Island of Thor”, which is associated with the history of the Highlands clan, one of the oldest clans in Scotland. The most prominent historic building on the island is the ruined Casteal nan Con (“Dog Castle”). Alongside the castle is an old three-bedroom farmhouse used as rental property on the island.
“Torsa is an idyllic Scottish island surrounded by enchanting scenery and hidden from prying eyes, which can be a dream paradise for the buyer seeking peace and solitude. But if you wish, you can organize a successful business here and rent houses,” he says in the sales announcement.
Currently, Torsa is used for raising cattle and sheep. The announcement also states that rare wildlife can be found on Torsa Island, including eagles, blue rabbits, roe deer and otters.
