Canadian brand Canada Goose, known for its luxury down jackets, has released a line of sneakers. It has been reported WWD.
As stated in the company, the decision to create a new product type for themselves in the brand was taken in line with the needs of the consumer.
“One of the things that got us into the sneaker business was classic consumer insight,” said Scott Portzline, Canada Goose’s vice president of footwear.
He noted that one of the testers of the “Arctic” boot line admitted that he naturally tends to wear more modern, lightweight, athletic shoes.
Sneakers of the Glacier Trail model brand were released in two versions – high and low. As Portzline points out, the brand’s goal when working on these shoes was to find the harmony between striking design and high functionality. The sneakers are made of suede and leather to give active lifestyle shoes a more luxurious feel.
The shoes are available in neutral colors – black, fawn and white – as well as shades of orange and blue.
The down jacket manufacturer started the production of shoes in 2021. The first products of the brand in this segment were boots.
