DDB Philippines, the advertising agency that is developing a campaign for the country’s tourism industry, was forced to remove the video it took after it emerged that other countries’ landscapes were used to advertise holidays in the Philippines. It has been reported Guard.

The government’s “Love the Philippines” tourism promotion campaign launched on June 27. But after the ad was posted on Facebook (the owner of the Meta company was considered extremist and banned in Russia), blogger Sass Rogando Sasot wrote on social networks that several frames in the video were shot in other countries. The analysis showed sights of Indonesia, Brazil, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates appear in the video.

On Sunday, July 2, the agency apologized to users for its “sad oversight”.

“We definitely had to use appropriate images and follow the approval process. Including overseas stock footage in a campaign promoting the Philippines is completely inappropriate and against Tourism Department guidelines.”

The Philippine Ministry of Tourism said the creators of the video received the video and verify that all images in the video are original and copyrighted.

At the same time, images were found in the video that can be found in open databases – in particular, rice fields are stored in the Pond5 video image bank and were shot in the Indonesian city of Ubud.

Now the ad has been removed from the networks.
