Prices in Russian catering establishments are rising due to inflation and logistical problems. Restaurateur Andrey Tretyakov, founder of Stereo People Group, told socialbites.ca about this.
“The reason is the menu change. The fact is that the dishes on the menu change every season. After the menu, the list of purchased products also changes. This summer season, it has become apparent to many restaurant operators that food prices are rising due to general inflation. Thus, food prices increased by an average of 10 percent,” he said.
According to Andrei Tretyakov, in addition to inflation, logistical problems also affect prices in Russian restaurants.
“We must not forget the problems that still exist in logistics. It’s no secret that its price has increased noticeably since last year, ”the expert added.
In June, the Russian Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurants (FRiO) still price increases in catering establishments. Experts explained this with an increase of up to 35% in the cost of imported products.
