Jewelry chain Sunlight lost the case for 3.5 million rubles. This is due to the motivating part of the court decision, which is at the disposal of socialbites.ca.

Six jewelry pieces belonging to the Sunlight brand (Solnechny Svet LLC) were found to be plagiarism products created by the Leta brand (Amberi LLC). Among them are three pairs of earrings and the same number of rings made of heliolite and moonstone and gold-plated silver.

It was noted that the earring and ring design was developed by Leta experts in 2019 and the jewelry was put up for sale on the brand’s official website in mid-2020. Two years later, similar products appeared in the Sunlight line.

The court decided to seek compensation from Sunlight in the amount of 3,456,000 rubles for the violation of exclusive rights in favor of Leta.

“A representative from Sunlight did not come to the meeting. They sent a review asking them to refuse to meet the requirements,” Mikhail Tantsura, CEO of Leta, shared with socialbites.ca.

In 2018, Avgvst accused Sunlight of copying jewellery. The Yekaterinburg brand introduced chupa-chups jewelry in 2015 – three years later, the popular chain put similar products on sale.
