The city of Ollolai, located in a mountainous region on the Italian island of Sardinia, has launched a program to attract new residents from the United States. It has been reported Guard.

Americans who choose to live and work remotely under the Work from Ollolai program (“Work from Ollolai”) will be provided housing for a nominal fee of €1. The program aims to increase the population of the city, which currently reaches 1300 people.

Only residents of the United States can participate in the program, as in this way Ollolai wants to emphasize his affiliation with this country. The truth is, the city was born Franco Columbu, a shepherd who moved to California in the 1960s and won the titles “Mr. Europe” and “Mr Universe” as a bodybuilder in the 1970s. In the mid-60s, at one of the competitions, Franco Colombu met Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a strong friendship developed between them.

It was noted that after the application site is finalized, people from other countries can also claim the right to live in the city for 1 Euro.

“Reviving the city, improving the life of the population and overcoming the population decline – these are our tasks. We are confident that we can offer a life close to nature, tranquility, healthy food and traditions, as we have a pleasant place to live and work from afar.”
