“I’ve been recovering for seven years and haven’t had a job since. The first time I didn’t want to tell anyone, because if anything goes wrong with you, you know you’ll leave. Something went wrong with me and I was gone for 20 years. I didn’t have a job. At one point in my life I was a huge movie star,” he told The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

In 1995, Stone received an Oscar nomination for the movie Casino. The actor drew attention to the fact that the projects he participated in after suffering a stroke were not as large-scale as before.

After 2001, Stone acted in movies such as Catwoman, Lovelace and Laundry Room. He was not nominated for either an Oscar or a Golden Globe after health issues.
