Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, wife of Prince Edward of England, was “deeply saddened” by the death of an 81-year-old woman who was injured multiple times after being hit by a police motorcycle from the Duchess’ convoy. It has been reported Mirror.

“The Duchess of Edinburgh is deeply saddened by the news of Helen Holland’s death. “His Majesty sends his deepest condolences and condolences to the entire family of Ms. Holland,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

It is assumed that Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, will meet with Helen Holland’s family privately.

Helen Holland, 81, of Birchanger in Essex, was in critical condition after being hit by a motorcycle on 10 May at the junction of West Cromwell Road and Warwick Road in west London. Last night, his family said that Holland “had been fighting for his life for almost two weeks… but his irreversible brain damage finally ended his struggle today.”
