Exercise in the pool can prevent lordosis, kyphosis and osteochondrosis, help strengthen all muscle groups and reduce weight. Swimming coach, hydrorehabilitologist Irina Rodionova told socialbites.ca about this.
“Free swimming and fairly light exercises using special equipment will not only achieve the desired shape, but also relieve tension from the shoulder girdle, and also prevent diseases of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions,” he said.
That is why, according to the specialist, in cases of osteochondrosis, lordosis and kyphosis, swimming with a plank is recommended, where the legs imitate crawling and the head is lowered into the water. It is also helpful to swim on the back with various variations of arm and leg movements (for example, crawling legs, arms stretched across the body, or breaststroke movements).
To strengthen the abdominal and abdominal muscles, it is recommended to swim on your side with a water bar behind your back, making crawling movements with your legs.
For those who want to lose weight, Irina Rodionova recommended running in the water with legs raised, breaststroke movements with her hands.
“This exercise will help improve blood circulation, remove excess fluid from the body, accelerate metabolism,” said the trainer.
He added that you need to swim “between two and eight pools per workout” to lose weight.
